S-a născut în urmă cu 77 de ani în satul Iacobeni din judeţul Suceava. A absolvit Liceul de Artă „Octav Băncilă” din Iaşi, apoi Institutul de Arte Plastice „Ion Andreescu” din Cluj-Napoca.
